Southern Smoke Foundation distributed $1.7 million to F+B workers affected by six natural disasters in 2024. This underscores the need to adjust our response to better support the most vulnerable households of F+B workers through our disaster relief efforts. Our criteria for individual emergency relief cases hasn’t changed.
To ensure meaningful recovery and sustainability as the community rebuilds, our team is working on plans to assist California F+B workers in the long-term via our emergency relief fund starting in June 2025. Donations for California wildfire recovery are now being accepted to build necessary resources.
Spots are currently available in our Behind You mental health program through our partnership with Cal Lutheran University. We encourage California F+B workers affected by the fires to apply.
SSF aims to be a resource for recovery, following the incredible work of the first responders. Learn more about SSF's impact here.
